Niobrara Riverview Retreats

Activities

You will find many activities to occupy your time while visiting the Valentine area. On our Area Attraction page, you  can see  many other things you can do after an enjoyable day on the water floating the “Wild and Scenic” Niobrara river. You can also ask us for suggestions on things to do based on the time you have available and what your interests are.

The community of Valentine,  other surrounding communities and the the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation have many activities planned throughout the summer and fall.  These include country music festivals, rodeos, antique car shows, the Cherry county fair and carnival, a car demolition derby,  Pow-Wows and the Old West Days.

While staying at our facilities, besides kicking back and relaxing and enjoying the company of your fiends and family, we have many other things you can enjoy.  We have hiking trails, yard games, a fire pit for evening bonfires, access to the river for swimming or wading and a 25 acres marsh where you can paddle around in one of our canoes and try your luck at catch and release fishing.  If you bring your own bikes, it is only  a short ride to the “Cowboy Trail” where you can continue your ride into Valentine (about 5 miles).  While there you can visit the  local sites, enjoy a meal or simply enjoy a day of beautiful scenery.

If you have more time on your trip, you can make a day trip to the Badlands of South Dakota and visit the famous Wall Drug Store at Wall. SD and be back in time for supper.

For those groups interested in group or team building activities, our staff can help you plan events ranging from orienteering, geocaching, nature hikes, running an obstacle course and even paint balling.
